Since 1979, the Rencontres Trans Musicales de Rennes festival has been dedicated to showcasing new talent and aims for all-around freshness in its programming, including through residencies. The festival takes place in the city of Rennes in the Brittany region of France and is known for discovering artists who have not yet appeared on the French music scene. Therefore, performing at the festival gives them a significant opportunity to break into the market.

In 2022, for the first time, two Estonian artists — Duo Ruut and Puuluup — performed at the festival’s invitation. In addition, Tarmo Sikk from the Võnge Festival participated in the delegation at the invitation of the Centre National de la Musique (CNM), the French national music center.

This year, CNM has invited Paavli Kultuurivabrik from Estonia, represented by Gordelia Miländer. In addition to the delegation’s participation, several networking events and one-on-one meetings with French music professionals will take place.

With the support of the Embassy of Estonia in Paris, Ave Sophia Demelemester, Director of Music Estonia, will also participate in the festival.

At the same time, participation will also take place in the city festival Bars en Trans.

Music Estonia’s goal is to find new contacts for our sector and to strengthen cooperation with the festival so that Estonian artists once again appear on its program radar.
