Music Estonia is putting together an Estonian music delegation of up to 10 members to take part in a networking trip to Reykjavik and to attend the music industry conference and festival Iceland Airwaves. The goal of the trip is to strengthen connections between the Estonian and Icelandic music sectors, share experiences, and establish new contacts.

Iceland Airwaves is one of Northern Europe’s most important festivals for new music and a key meeting place for the music industry. Every autumn, it brings international industry professionals and a wide variety of artists to Reykjavik. Iceland also serves as a unique meeting point between the European and North American music industries and a natural bridge into the Nordic networks. Despite having a population of only about 400,000, the country has produced a remarkable number of internationally successful artists, including Björk, Sigur Rós, Of Monsters and Men, Hatari, Laufey, Ólafur Arnalds, GusGus, and many others. In addition, Iceland has established a strong position in film music and composition, maintaining close cooperation with the audiovisual sectors.
