Programme TechTrack Lab is Music Estonia’s practical development programme, bringing together people from the music and technology sectors. The goal of the programme is to move from music industry challenges and early-stage ideas to first solution directions and practical experiments.

TechTrack Lab is not a competition or a classic hackathon. The focus is on collaboration, mutual validation, testing, and experimentation.

TechTrack Lab is a continuation of the TechTrack pilot programme launched in 2025, which demonstrated clear cross-sector interest in collaboration, but also a need for structure — in other words, a form of collaboration that would help explore, validate, and further develop early problems and ideas. TechTrack Lab was born out of this need.

TechTrack Lab is for anyone interested in the intersection of music and technology. Those invited to take part include, for example:

• music industry professionals, companies, and organisations;
• developers and tech enthusiasts;
• designers and people with a background in UX and service design;
• entrepreneurs and people interested in developing new solutions;
• students and young professionals.

You don’t need a ready idea or an existing team to take part. Come with a challenge, an early idea, a skill, or simply curiosity.

The programme consists of three sessions, taking participants from a challenge toward a first genuinely testable output. The Discovery opening session begins with a talk from international expert Mikael Säwström of Brewhouse Incubator (Gothenburg). This is followed by a joint mapping of challenges and early ideas, and the selection of themes to carry forward into the Lab I and Lab II sessions. Between Discovery and Lab I, the chosen problems and idea directions undergo an initial round of refinement and validation. TechTrack Lab is run in cooperation with Brewhouse Incubator, based in Gothenburg.

Schedule Discovery – Find friction 14 October 2026, 15:30–19:30 Talk: Mikael Säwström (Brewhouse Incubator) — MusicTech trends, business models, and lessons from successful companies. Mapping challenges and early ideas, selecting themes for Lab I.

Lab I – Shape direction 28 October 2026, 15:30–19:30 Fixing themes and teams, refining problems, and mapping solution directions.

Lab II – Build first step 11 November 2026, 15:30–19:30 Choosing a solution direction and building the first testable output — for example a prototype, sketch, service concept, web solution draft, AI-based experiment, or testing plan.

Discovery is open to a wider audience. The line-up for Lab I and Lab II forms after Discovery, based on the themes that emerge and participants’ readiness to continue working.

All TechTrack Lab sessions take place at the Tallinn Business Incubator.

One-time registration fee: €10 for Music Estonia members and students, €15 for other participants.
