Estonian Early Music Ensemble Floridante was founded in Tallinn in 2014. Initially comprised of four members, Floridante today involves a few dozen Estonian musicians with a passion for Early Music. Since 2015, Floridante is Ensemble in Residence at the Haapsalu Early Music Festival. Since 2017, Floridante has been organizing the ‘Gambavaim’ – annual viola da gamba festival with workshops on Estonian island Hiiumaa. Over the years, Floridante has gained a prominent position in the Estonian classical music scene and has been performing numerous festivals in and out of its native country. In 2019, Floridante’s debut CD ‘Amarilli mia bella’ was released by Estonian Record Productions.
