Saxophonist and composer Lauri Kadalipp is an active artist who has established himself in the Estonian jazz music scene. Growing up in a music-loving family, it is not absolutely unexpected that Lauri’s life path led him to music. Lauri writes music for various projects, from the film score to smaller groups and big bands. In 2019, the music he wrote was included in the animated film “Vanamehe Film”, which reached the top ten most watched films of the year with more than 80,000 viewers. With the same film, he was also nominated for the EFTA 2020 gala composer of the year title. Lauri Kadalipp is the laureate of the Young Jazz Talent Award 2018, issued in cooperation between the Jazzkaar festival and the Estonian Jazz Association. Lauri is currently pursuing a master’s degree in jazz composition and saxophone at the Hamburg University of Theater and Music (HfMT) in Germany.
