Music Estonia is pleased to announce the eight recipients of the Baltic Culture Fund travel support grant for WOMEX 2023

World Music Expo (WOMEX) is the most international and culturally diverse music meeting in the world and the biggest conference of the global music scene, featuring a trade fair, talks, films and showcase concerts. Thanks to the Baltic Culture Fund, the delegation from the three Baltic states will be bigger than ever with an official Baltic focus and eight Estonian music companies will receive travel support from the fund.

Music Estonia is pleased to announce the eight recipients of the Baltic Culture Fund travel support grant for WOMEX 2023:

The composition of the committee selecting the eight applications includes Ave Sophia Maria Tölpt (Music Estonia), Jaan Jaago (Estonian Authors’ Society), Madli-Liis Parts (Ministry of Culture of Estonia), and Tarmo Noormaa (Estonian Traditional Music Centre). The work of the jury was coordinated by Music Estonia project manager Sebastian Buccioni.

The committee chose to focus on artists and music companies with clear goals that align with the potential of WOMEX. Music Estonia thanks all of the applicants for their interest. Thanks to the healthy response to the open call, the Estonian delegation at WOMEX will be a representative cross-section of the global music sector in Estonia.

This year there will be a joint Baltic booth area with a larger meeting area, networking event in collaboration with Spanish regional export offices, a reception and an official WOMEX showcase performance by Puuluup.

The WOMEX summer rate (€396 incl. VAT) is available until August 25. Students can register for €165 (incl. VAT).
