Apply for a grant to participate in the WOMEX until Aug 8

From October 25-29 2023 WOMEX – World Music Expo – will take place in A Coruña, Galicia, Spain. We welcome Estonian music companies to apply for the travel funding  until Aug 8. Music Estonia will be able to support the participation of up to eight Estonian music companies in this upcoming edition of WOMEX from the funds of the Baltic Culture Fund. In addition it is possible for five further companies to receive support from the EAÜ-ME export fund. The scope of support varies slightly between funds, but you can apply for both funds at the same time by filling out one application (see below).

Participation in the festival allows you to expand the contact network of the Estonian music industry, create new possible cooperation relationships, increase the visibility of Estonian artists and music companies, participate in important meetings and contribute to the development of international cooperation projects.

WOMEX is the most international and culturally diverse music meeting in the world and the biggest conference of the global music scene, featuring a trade fair, talks, films and showcase concerts. Over 2,600 professionals (including 260 performing artists) come together every October from 90 countries, making WOMEX the leading networking platform for the world music industry. Its musical spectrum is unparalleled in the international showcase performance market, ranging from the most traditional to the new global local underground, embracing folk, roots, jazz, local and diaspora cultures as much as urban and electronic sounds from all over the globe. 7 stages, around 700 exhibiting companies, 100+ speakers, films, an opening concert and an award ceremony across five packed networking days and rather short nights.

From Estonia Puuluup will perform in the official programme of WOMEX on 28th Oct.

Thanks to the Baltic Culture funding, the delegation from the three Baltic states will be bigger than ever with an official Baltic focus. There will be a joint Baltic booth area, networking event in collaboration with Spanish regional export offices, and a reception. Baltic Culture Fund promotes cultural cooperation between Baltic States, in order to strengthen the internationalisation of Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian culture through joint cultural events.

Don’t need support, but are you going to participate in the festival? Also let us know about it, so that we can join you in the activities of the Estonian delegation.

Who are we expecting to apply?
