Vera Vice is performing at Focus Wales showcase

FOCUS Wales is an international showcase festival taking place from the 9th till 11th of May in multiple venues across the city of Wrexham, North Wales. The festival places the music industry spotlight firmly on the emerging talent that Wales has to offer the world, alongside a selection of the best new acts from across the globe. Vera Vice from Estonia has been selected for the program of Focus Wales.

Vera Vice is an Estonian audiovisual duo consisting of Helen Västrik and Ave Vellesalu-Murd whose trademark mix of velvety dream-pop and phantasmagorical poetry can be described as field recordings of the subconscious. This meticulously detailed yet somewhat dislocated approach is also evident in their music videos and visuals, which combine the characteristics of high-fashion imagery. Critics have called them underground pop aliens whose performances are tricky, delicate and shape-shifting. Following the release of their second LP Forget Me Not in spring 2022, Vera Vice have performed at major music festivals across Europe, including ESNS (NL), TMW (EE), MENT Ljubljana (SI) and Way Out West (SE). They have also participated in the international gender parity programme Keychange and the sound residency at WORM Rotterdam. The duo is currently working on their third album, which will be released in spring 2024.
